Introduction Congratulations on the purchase of your new Penta Sport
long range wireless remote mouse. As you know the Penta Sport was
designed to be the next generation remote for computer
presentations, but they did such a good job on the joystick that it
is also suitable as a general purpose remote mouse, so we welcome
all customers whether they be presentation professionals or casual
computer users. Please read through this user's guide before you
plug the product into your computer. The user's guide is designed to
be interactive in that you can suggest (via email) new topics,
procedures, trouble shooting, etc. If you have any suggestions that

The "MOUSE" and the "RECEIVER"
The Remote Mouse The remote mouse or just "MOUSE", as we refer to it in
this user's guide, is the thing pictured in the above photo.
Remember, there are just two basic parts to this product. They are
the MOUSE and the RECEIVER.
Laser Lens: This is
where the laser beam light comes from. Please be careful with
the Laser Beam because it could be harmful to the eye. Never
point the beam into your eyes or any eye whether it be human or
animal.
LED Indicator:
Green indicates mouse activity

Red
indicates laser pointer activity
Right and Left Mouse Button:
Same as the standard right and left mouse buttons found on a
typical computer mouse
On/Off Button: This
allows you to force the remote mouse to power down
Slide Advance Buttons:
These will take you forward or reverse through your PowerPoint*
slides. They also act like Page Up and Page Down buttons on
other computer documents
Function Key: One Click
= F5 Key, Double Click = Esc Key
Navigation Joystick:
This is the big silver disk in the middle. The navigation disk
has 2 functions: 1. It is a acts like a standard trackball or
mouse in that it moves the little arrow on the screen. 2. The
second feature (really cool) is that you can actually press down
on the disk and it acts like a "clicker" or left mouse button.
This means you can use the Silver Disk to advance your
PowerPoint* slides. Therefore, the Silver Disk becomes your
all-in-one tool for most of the things you do with a remote
mouse.
Battery Compartment:
Press in on the battery cover and then slide it down to remove
and access batteries. Uses Standard AAA Batteries.
Laser Trigger Button:
This fires the laser beam. It is easy to find even in dark
presentation conference rooms or auditoriums
The Wireless Receiver The wireless receiver is about the size of a pack of
chewing gum. We will refer to it as the "RECEIVER".
LED Indicator Light:
This will blink really fast when you press a button or the
navigation disk on the MOUSE. It indicates RF communication
between the RECEIVER and the MOUSE.
The Reset Button:
DON'T PRESS IT! Don't press the reset button unless you have
to change channels for some reason. See Channel Changing Section
below.
Standard USB Connector:
This is the part that you plug into your computer.
Installation
Plug the receiver into any available USB port on your laptop
or desktop computer. The system will automatically detect the
little receiver.
You will get a message that Windows is installing a new
device and within about 60 seconds the receiver will be
installed.
Now pickup the Penta Sport Mouse and remove the battery
cover. You have to press in the cover (on the spot where there
are little ridges) and slide the cover down.
Insert the 2 AAA batteries that came with the Penta Sport.
One Goes Up, One Goes Down - Please note that one
battery goes up and the other battery goes down. Please see
diagram in battery compartment that shows which battery goes up
and which one goes down.
Slide the power button on the Penta Sport Mouse to the "On"
position.
Now grab the Penta Sport in your hand and press the
Navigation Joystick as you watch the computer screen. If the
little arrow on the screen starts to move then the installation
process is complete.
Special Note for Windows 98: If the system is Win 98
Second Edition, it may request the hardware drive. Please insert the
Win 98 system CD into CD-ROM and follow the steps to search for the
driver of USB driver and complete the setup.
Changing Channels (Don't do it
unless you have to) The Penta Sport has been pre-set and paired between
remote and receiver at the factory. Therefore, it is not necessary
to change the ID or Channel setting unless your remote is
conflicting or receiving interference from another remote mouse or
other device.
Press the connect button on the little receiver. The LED on
receiver will start to blink.
On the Mouse, press the Right Mouse Button for about 5
seconds. Please note that this step must be performed within 8
seconds after Step 1.
The LED on the Mouse will blink faster for a little while.
This indicates that the mouse has been switched to a new Channel
ID.
Please note that if the Penta Sport does not work properly, go
back to step 1 and repeat the procedure.
Trouble Shooting Sometimes the Mouse and Receiver lose contact with each
other. Fixing the communication problem with the Penta Sport is
fairly simple. You just have to tell the Mouse to search for
whatever channel the receiver is running on and then it
automatically connects.
On the MOUSE, press the Right Mouse Button for about 5
seconds.
The LED on the MOUSE will blink faster for a little while.
This indicates that the MOUSE has found the RECEIVER.
Press the Navigation Disk (big silver disk) and check
computer screen to confirm that the cursor (little arrow) moves
when you press the Navigation Disk.
Miscellaneous We hope you are enjoying your new Penta Sport long range
remote mouse. However, there are a few items that you should keep in
mind while using this great product.
Keep batteries out of the reach of children.
Do not mix the batteries with different types of batteries.
For example, don't mix carbon battery with alkaline battery.
Remove the batteries if the device will not be used for
longer than a month.
Never, ever point the Laser Beam at the eye of yourself or
another person or animal. The Laser Beam is a powerful form of
light that could cause injury to your eye.
